Northwest Firefighters Battle Second House Fire This Week

For the second time this week, firefighters from the Northwest Camden County Fire District get called out to a house fire.

This time personnel responded shortly before 7:00 Wednesday night to an area off Stoddard Road in the Edwards area.

Upon arrival, smoke and fire were visible coming from the attic with neighbors using garden hoses to keep the fire at bay. From there, it took firefighters about five minutes using a water can to put out the remaining blaze keeping damage to a small portion of the exterior and the attic.

There were no injuries and the heat index at the time was 102 degrees.

No official determination on a cause of the fire has been released.
