If the $350-million Oasis at Lakeport project continues in Osage Beach, it will do so without the support of two key community entities.
The Camden County Commission, on Thursday, passing a resolution of support for the Camdenton R-3 School District’s rejection of a requested TIF and Super TIF for the project.
Presiding Commissioner Ike Skelton says the process, so far, does not meet standards normally established for TIF’s to be granted…“Lakefront property is prime real estate in Camden County. And blighting it to say that it’s worthless so that they can get these tax breaks, I think is a bridge too far.”
The resolutions approved by the school district and the county commission may just be a formality of failure in light of the developer and most of the property owners already, reportedly, jumping on board with a buy-out agreement of the time-share units.
