Kansas City Man Drowns in Bollinger Cove

A 56-year-old from Kansas City is dead after a reported drowning in Bollinger Creek Cove at the 43-mile marker of the main channel.

The water patrol division of the highway patrol says it happened late Sunday night when James Roy was last seen near a moored vessel. It’s unknown how Roy entered the water but he did not resurface.

He was pronounced dead about four hours later at Mimosa Beach.
