The end of 2022 means Missouri motor vehicle owners are to have paid their personal property tax.

And in many cases those bills rose by over 25% since the previous year.

That’s due to a recent shortage of new vehicles in particular.

State lawmakers are expected to address the rate increases and, under some proposals, consider eliminating the tax in the upcoming legislative session which starts next Wednesday.
