As we’ve seen in recent days and weeks, we’re into the time of year when we’ll see rapidly changing weather and forecasts. That includes, of course, the possibility of tornadoes. It’s recommended that you have a plan in place of a tornado, with a basic emergency kit designed to last three days. That includes:
- A gallon of water per person per day
- Non-perishable food sources
- A battery powered radio or weather radio
- Extra batteries
- First-aid kit
If you’re caught outside in the event of tornado and can’t get to shelter, get to a low, flat location or take cover in a stationary vehicle with your seat belt on and your head covered.
