Three Injured In Golf Kart Crash Over The Weekend

A golf cart accident Saturday night on Avalon Way Road, near Stagecoach Lane in Camden County, sends three people to the emergency room and comes to an end with the operator of the golf cart facing pending charges.

The highway patrol says a reported mechanical malfunction caused 61-year-old James Eaklor, of Silex, to lose control sending the golf cart backwards before striking an embankment and overturning.

Two passengers, 55-year-old Lori Eaklor and a 9-year-old female both also from Silex, suffered minor injuries and were treated at Lake Regional.

Mister Eaklor was seriously hurt and flown to University Hospital.

He’s also facing pending charges of DWI causing physical injury and unlawfully operating a low-speed vehicle on a highway without a valid license.
