Ameren Missouri electric bills will increase for customers come February.
The Missouri Public Service Commission says an increase has been approved and applied to adjust the renewable energy standard rate mechanism charge or RESRAM charge.
It allows electric companies adjust rates outside of general electric rates to recover costs that come from meeting federal and state renewable energy standards.
The statement says average residential customers who use 1,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity per month will see an 85-cent increase to their monthly bill.
The Commission explains that because of regular adjustments to the charge it has most recently appeared on bills as a 50-cent credit but effective February, it will appear as a charge of 35-cents.
