Lake Area Farmers Invited To Drought Assistance Meeting

This summer’s drought has been causing many headaches for cattle ranchers who need to feed their livestock this winter and have little forage and hay on hand.

To help, the MU Extension Council is offering an educational meeting on Friday, August 19 for cattle producers who want tips for surviving and recovering from the drought.

The program will focus on issues including hay quality, alternative feeds, herd culling tips, early weaning, the beef market outlook, and assessing the price of forages, among others.

The meeting for cattle producers takes place on August 19 will be offered from 12:30 until 4:15 at the MU Extension Office in Lebanon.
