A huge multi-use and multi-phase development proposed for 22-hundred acres in Camdenton has become held up for economic reasons.

But Camdenton City Administrator Jeff Hooker says it’s only a matter of time before the developers behind the most recent proposal or others move forward on such a project there.

Hooker says MO-Lake Development “put the brakes on” its plans when interest rates rose and because of other economic factors…

“It is a great idea. What was planned there? We did a lot of work with Missouri Lake development on annexation into the city, revenue sharing to pay back for infrastructure. So it was really exciting. It was going to be a huge boost if it all went through in different phases to the city of Camdenton. Phase one was going to be right behind Walmart.”

The MO-Lake Development plan for the land between Highways 54 and 5 was to include  housing, a hotel, and numerous retail establishments.
