Numbers Released Regarding Missouri School Cyber Threats

Numbers are in for incidents of cyber security threats.

In 2021, 62 school districts were impacted by a total of 166 reported cyber incidents.

But the Lebanon R-3 Superintendent Dr David Schmitz tells us that the district has been fortunate to stay ahead of the curve.

Dr Schmitz said cybersecurity is a major concern with the digital learning tools they provide for their students.

But they’re always on the lookout for malicious Phishing  and odd emails.

He says the state and insurance providers want to know what controls security measures are in place.

He says there are resources that provide training for the staff, and that their IT department is very efficient.
